Kati A. Lohr, LPC-MHSP
Kati is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a nationally Certified Counselor who has been in private practice around the country for over 10 years. She specializes in providing counseling services to adolescents, families, couples and groups often using interactive, adventure-based therapy modalities. Kati holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology and a Masters in Outdoor Education from the University of Minnesota. This combination allows her to guide and support therapeutic changes using innovative methods that are action-oriented and often involve inter-active “off the couch” experiences. Kati knows that working to create healthy relationships can be a difficult process that is challenging for everyone involved, so she uses tools that may engage a fresh perspective on old or unhealthy behavior patterns. Kati is endorsed as a Mental Health Service Provider for the State of TN, and is also a level I and II practitioner of EMDR.
Baron
Baron is a 3 year old German Shepherd Dog. He was born in Germany and moved to Cedar Valley Kennels, just south of Nashville, when he was just a pup. Baron's immigration purpose was to be working for the US government. He was placed with various families to develop his social skills and realized his desire to be around children and families. After his initial training, Baron was eventually granted discharge to pursue his passions. He is trained Schutzhund service and is working towards his certification and titles in that discipline. His primary dedication is to protect and serve his humans, the Lohr's and training his little brother Ace. He is also honored to be helping his human mom with her counseling practice and loves to interact with anyone that wants to interact with him.
Ace
Ace is a rambunctious puppy version of Baron. He is dedicated to testing the patience of any human who desires calm dog behaviors. His favorite past times include chewing on his brother and idol, Baron, chasing his 2 kitty sisters, and obsessively wanting to play fetch and tug-o-war. He is looking forward to the day he is allowed to hang out without being in his crate so that he may play with humans and learn to help kids and families like his big brother.
Christie Bates
Christie is a consultant, writer, mother and Clinical Director for a youth treatment center. She has published numerous articles and her book is titled “Accepting Your Resurrection”. Chris has been working with individuals and families for over 20 years and is a consultant with Adventure Counseling & Training Services, PLLC.
Brandon Teeftaller, NP
Brandon is a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who relocating to Nashville area a few years ago. He has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner since 2001 in multiple settings. His previous practice consisted of child, adolescents, and adults in the Memphis, TN area. His specialty includes medication management of all ages. His special interest includes mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and gay/lesbian issues. Although he sees all age patients, his special age interest is older adolescents and young adults. Although his preference is medication management, he also does limited cognitive and brief therapy. His love for mental health guides his practice, and allows coaching of his clients to achieve their potential. Through a combination of medications and therapy, he gives the clients the tools needed to assist them to develop their individual treatment plan. His focus remains on crisis interevention, plan establishment, and succes attainment in collaboration with his clients.
Brandon is a dual certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He is licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Tennesse and Mississippi. He currently holds another part-time position in a local Emergency Room as a mid-level provider. His knowledge of medicine and mental health allows him to attack illness with a holistic approach.
Robert Chapman, MSSW, LADAC
Robert is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist. He has been on the faculty of CENAPS Intensive School of Relapse Prevention Specialists and has been published in Addictions and Recovery Magazine as well as other recovery related publications. Bobby also specializes in Adventure Therapy techniques utilizing the Challenge Course, Ropes Course, Experiential and Metaphor Therapy as tools for enhanced recovery.
Mary Faulkner, M.Div
Mary Faulkner, M.A. has been in private practice for over 20 years. She describes her work as helping dreams come true. Mary assists clients heal the past, find their true path, and begin to live creatively – now. She works with both women and men as well as young adults.
Mary holds a master’s degree in religious education with a focus in pastoral counseling, and is the author of six books, former owner and director of Integrated Healing Arts, former Director of Women’s Services at Cumberland Heights and currently Women’s Program Director for Integrative Life Center of Nashville—a holistic Intensive Outpatient Program opening in February of 2010.
Mary uses Insight Therapy; a process called Deconstructing Trauma; Cognitive Restructuring; Reiki; Clinical Hypnotherapy; Guided Inner Journey; and a variety of other modalities to assist in the healing process.
Lisa Henderson, MS
Lisa contracts with Adventure Counseling to provide a unique combination of services that focus on treating the whole person. She holds a Masters degree in Health and Human Performance from Middle Tennessee State University. After working with clients to improve their physical health, she realized there was more to it than the simple knowledge of healthy behaviors. Lisa was motivated to enroll in a program with Walden University to earn her Masters in Counseling to address the need for balancing the emotional and relational problems that interact with physical health. From weight management, stress management, relationship problems, and other personal problems, Lisa evaluates all aspects of life to help clients realize their full potential.
